Get UL set up on your devices
Mac
After you sign in, you will be greeted with a quick tutorial. It's short, it's simple, and we humbly suggest that you actually do it 😉
(We strongly recommend you start your journey with UL on desktop!)
You can find UL companion apps in both the Apple App and Google Play stores.
Use apps faster with Universal Launcher
Universal Launcher is an app launcher with a command line user experience similar to that of Alfred for Mac or MacOS's native Spotlight launcher (if you're on a Mac and you don't know what this is, hit cmd + space ). Beyond opening apps, Universal Launcher lets (even non-technical) users configure and execute keyword shortcuts for performing common actions with their apps without needing to expend valuable attention on navigating diverse graphical user interfaces with their mouse.
Unlike other popular app launchers, Universal Launcher is designed to work on any operating system (mainly so that users like ourselves are never left without access to their trusty shortcuts!). Currently, we support Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android.

Break free from the loop of clicks and keystrokes
The shortcut to open up your UL Command Bar is command+space (mac) or ctrl+space (pc)
Under the input (where you type after opening up the UL Command Bar), we have Icon, Application Name, Action, and Shortcuts to execute Action .
Icon
An image that represents the application or shortcut
Application Name
An application that is slightly faded, means you must install the plugin in order to use the shortcut. This can be done by clicking or pressing Command + 1 / CTRL + 1
Anytime you see UL Plugin - <Plugin Name> this means if you perform this action, you will be taken directly to that specific plugin's page in your UL Application. Plugin pages will hold Guides that explain the plugin in more depth.
UL tracks usage to improve, transparency is key
Has this ever happened to you? You're in the zone typing out your latest trillion-dollar idea in the form of a UL Trello shortcut when, suddenly, your neck hairs stand on end. Because it just occurred to you, is everything I type in this magic machine being saved in a database? Does it get encrypted beforehand? Moreover, will Mason be able to steal it and all the credit, any/all of my best ideas for apps that...? Rest easy. While I'm sure you have extremely high quality, even steal-worthy, ideas, and respect that that is why we're all so rich already, Universal Launcher doesn't need to store anything you write off your nearest supported device. If we did need to, we'd encrypt it, your latest IP, but, at least with UL's current feature set, we don't. If that changes, if like, we decide to implement cross-device clipboard history sync and backup, we'll let you know. And then opt out of that shit. UL 🧡 disobedient citizens and always will. So keep on typing, type "Mason is pretty annoying, he should go eat shit for dinner."
UL collects information related to how and how often you choose to use it or not. We're kind of sorry about that, and it's something we should back off of once we're confident enough in the product, but, pre-revenue, it's the only data we can use to grade ourselves. That's no excuse not to be transparent 👇

Often plugins require you to authenticate with the 3rd party app they integrate with. If this is the case, clicking install will do one of two things.
Take you to their sign in page where you will need to grant UL permission to use the app on your behalf, before redirecting you back to Universal Launcher.
Request that you submit a personal access token or other secret.
Access can be revoked at any time simply by uninstalling a plugin.
